Wine.woot and 2006 Havens...oh my!

I've just found the deal of a lifetime! Wine.woot is a cool site that offers quality wines at great prices. Sometimes, the wines are only about $2-3 less than in stores, sometimes comparable if sales are going on. But this week, they are offering a very well-known wine that typically goes for $20 or more at Specs for only $10 a bottle! Of course, it comes in a pack of 4, but when did that ever become a problem?

What is it? Havens vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.

The Syrah variety of this wine was probably one of the first ones I tried that was out of my price range. It came highly recommended and I decided to be a little adventurous - especially since I had just gotten paid that day. Let's just say - it was so freakin' amazing!!! The flavor was bold and changed with every sip. Leaving it out in a glass for 2 hours made it better, not worse like typical wines. As such a deep red, I would recommend pairing with a nice, juicy steak or a smoky gouda.

Hurry though! Havens has recently liquidated and sold their vineyards - so this wonderful juice is no more. Thus the reason for the incredible price drop. Grab some before they're gone!

Price: $39.99 for 4 on Wine.woot
Rating:  5 out of 5 glasses

P.S. If these varieties aren't your thing, the woot founders are hinting that they will be offering more to choose from in the coming weeks! I'm anxiously hoping that a syrah will appear. Happy wooting!

  1. Tragedy they sold their vineyard, the juice is stellar. And a steal, even at $20.
